If you haven’t noticed, glamping is becoming a massive thing in the world today. Who hasn’t lusted over some incredible photos of people camping in fashion in beautiful places around the world all over instagram, pinterest, and Facebook and thought… ‘goals..?’ If you’re out of the loop, glamping is just like camping… but a little more glam! 😉 It’s like luxury camping: you get out into nature, but without the air mattresses and tiny tents. Think: king sized beds, beautifully designed interiors, spacious living areas, and views like no other.
Glamping doesn’t always have to be in a tent; what really defines it is being out in the middle of nature. Sometimes you’re in big beautiful teepees, and other times you’ll be in a luxury lodge in the middle of mountains or a forest. Glamping is always a getaway, pure and simple. Many are even pet friendly, and loads are eco-friendly too!
Glamping Hub is the first of its kind to create an actual portal to places to glamp all over the world, where you can access stunning glamping locations just as easy as you can look at hotels or flights online. I had a browse through their dozens of locations in Australia, where I currently am, and was absolutely gaping at some of the adorable and trendy places that I had absolutely no idea were available here down under.
They list a massive range of properties – from lodges and cabins to restored train carriages, yurts, and luxury tents, many even bridging gaps between a few different things. I tried to pick a good mix of them all! After going through all of the incredible properties (which took forever to narrow down, not gonna lie) I picked my fave from each of Australia’s states/territories. I also picked a few honorable mentions because the decision was way too difficult 😛 Check these places out:
Now doesn’t this just look like perfection?! All nestled up there on stilts up in the trees, in what looks like a little cabin but – oh wait! It’s actually just a massive, rad, compartmentalized, decked-out tent. They actually have three different types of these ‘safari tents’ with fancy furniture, linen, fire pits, and toiletries, with adventure rentals of kayaks and bikes, spa treatments, and a treetop dining room. Sign me up.
Now if you flick through some photos of this place, you’ll see that its situated within a big geometric spherical dome with ‘windows’ all over it and an entire transparent side opening up towards a beautiful view. The interior design is on point too!
3. Bed and Breakfast Eco-Cottages Overlooking Wilpena Pound– South Australia
These adorable, secluded, little luxury eco-cottages are literally right next to the iconic Wilpena Pound. There are tons of amenities on-site, the cottages are fully stocked, and there’s even a pool!
Now, if you want a getaway, this is your spot. Not sure you can get much more remote than a little island off the north coast of the NT. Up there, you’re pretty much in the tropics, and these little cabins are right on the beach. Guided activities are optional too!
Would you look at the view from these?! These cabins feature two completely glass walls and, funnily enough, look out over the Glasshouse Mountains near the Sunshine Coast. How fitting is that? You can relax in a spa on the balcony while you BBQ, looking out at wild kangaroo’s :).
This place looks absolutely sweeeeet. I didn’t know Mongolia had a specific type of yurt, but they are definitely doing it right. It’s like your own little glamping palace with hammocks and all sorts of turkish rugs and designs, with amazing mountain views even from the bathroom! On the bucket list for sure.
This all-inclusive property is fully planned out for you and designed to be a long weekend trip. Locally sourced meals, coastal walks, national park passes, and transportation are all included, and it’s incredible eco-friendly!! Another reason to visit beautiful Tassie.
Honorable Mentions (cuz I’m that indecisive)
Yes, believe it or not, that is a tent! These units are trendy and practical, in luxurious tents out in a lovely secluded location!
These can be set up wherever you would like around Margaret River, which is a more, well, reachable area of WA. Did I hear someone say wine?!
Now this place is real luxury – interior design absolutely on point, and would you just look at the ocean view?! The beaches up there look like something out of a fairtyale; a perfect getaway. Yes please!
I had to include a property near the gorgeous Blue Mountains National Park in NSW. These cabind seem to hover in the air next to the treetops, looking right out over the national park. I could deeeefinitely see myself waking up to this view.
Disclaimer: In exchange for this post in accordance with Glamping Hub, I will be actually visiting one of these properties soon! 🙂 Of course all words are my own; I enjoyed browsing through these amazing places and can’t wait to visit one soon.
