My name is Kimmie Conner, and I was born and raised in California to a pilot father and a flight attendant mother. I like to say that I’ve had travel in my blood from the start! In recent years I have found I have incurable fomo for adventures and sunsets (Fomo means fear of missing out… its a thing here in CA). In other words, I simply cannot ever say no to a good adventure, and must always watch a good sunset. And if I am not adventuring or watching a sunset, I am probably planning the next time I will. Adventures can be defined in many ways, but for me, anything that involves getting out and exploring something new can be an adventure. It does’t always have to be a place you have never been, but as long as you can face the situation with an open mind an find overlooked beauty in the mundane or the everyday, well, anything can be an adventure. And life is a lot more fun if you try to make everything into one!

Cliffs of Moher

As far as sunsets go, I think they are one of the most beautiful natural phenomena that absolutely everyone can enjoy. You have to travel far and wide to see a lot of the world’s wonders, but sunsets can be appreciated in every corner of the earth. There’s something about them that really draws me in and puts me in awe every time. Maybe it’s the fact that each one is different and you will never see the same one twice. Maybe it’s because the beauty of a sunset is completely breathtaking but always fleeting, and no matter the extravagance of its most bright and colorful point, you always have a only short time to truly appreciate it before it turns slowly grey and is gone forever. There’s something romantic about that, I think. You can glimpse the utmost beauty, and you can never keep it, but you can always look forward to what the next one might bring. This is why you can catch me racing to the high roofs of buildings or to tall cliffs above the water when the shadows start getting long at the end of each day, to chase the sunset. I want to value these moments while I can, just for a few minutes before each night starts to fall, where I can fully take in how gorgeous our world is no matter where in it I happen to be at the time.

So anyway, that is how my blog got it’s name and that is what it will be about. I can’t wait to document all of my adventures & sunsets here as I explore our beautiful world! And, the bottom line is that I hope to motivate you to enjoy many adventures & sunsets from whichever corner of the globe on which you reside, because adventures & sunsets are two amazing, beautiful, and FREE happiness-inducers you can enjoy ANYWHERE♥
