Dubrovnik Nightlife: The Best Bars + Clubs for a Night Out!

Is there good nightlife in Dubrovnik? The short answer is – yes! There’s plenty to do when the sun goes down here, and Dubrovnik nightlife is definitely worth checking out. Whether you are looking for a small-yet-bustling bar for some after-dinner drinks or to dance the night away at a massive club, I’ll show you the best places to go.

Dubrovnik is the only place I know where you can start your night at a bar inside cave and end it partying inside 600-year-old fortress walls. So is a night out here worth it? Absolutely. It’s important to note, however, that most clubs will be open in the season from May-October – so check opening dates beforehand.

I used to lead tours for young people around the Croatian Islands, where part of my job was LITERALLY to take people out each night. So I have explored ALL the options for you and listed them below.

Best Bars in Dubrovnik for a Sit-Down Drink

These more low-key bars are for those who want to experience Dubrovnik nightlife but aren’t particularly keen to push through crowds on a dance floor.

D’Vino

For wine lovers and more sophisticated drinkers, D’Vino is a lovely and quaint little wine bar right inside the old town walls. They stock a great amount of local and international wines, and are a great place to go for an authentic tasting.

Cave Bar More

If you are looking for a more unique Dubrovnik nightlife experience, Cave Bar More is DEFINITELY the place to go. Yes, it is located INSIDE a cave, and yes, you must walk under stalagmites and among stalactites (adorned with fairy lights) to get there.

The only downside to this bar is that it’s located near Lapad, about a 10-minute drive or 15-minute bus from town. I guess you can’t really pick the location of a cave! 😛 So if you don’t mind a drive, check this place out.

Malvasija Wine Bar

Malvasija Wine Bar is another hidden gem wine tasting bar in the old city walls. It’s just up an alley from the main street, stradun. It’s just tucked away enough to feel you are having an authentic experience, but also perfectly still amongst the bustle of the old town.

Irish Pub Karaka

Every city needs its own Irish pub, right?! Dubrovnik is no different and the Karak Irish Bar is a great meeting place for locals and foreigners alike just off stradun – especially for sports lovers.

It’s. a great place to get away from the crowds for a cheeky daytime drink, or to immerse yourself into rowdy sports fans and have a couple of pints (or whisky’s) at night! It’s surely the best pub in Dubrovnik for those who like that vibe.

Best Bars in Dubrovnik for Pre-drinks Before the Club

These bars will have bumping music, drinks flowing, and maybe even some dancing BEFORE the clubs open! They’re a great way to begin your Dubrovnik nightlife experience.

Trocadero Bar

This is the first bar I used to take my tour groups to in Dubrovnik before hitting the clubs. Trocadero, or better known as ‘bucket bar,’ is a little bar located up an alleyway in the center of old town that sells buckets of cocktails and gets extremely packed in peak season.

Recently, they have started serving buckets from two different bar areas, which has helped a bit, but it would be wise to arrive before 10:30 to get a place in this fun little spot. They have 3 different types of buckets, all usually served with a glow stick that people collect and put in their hair 🙂

Onofrio Ice Bar

Located right next to Onofrio fountain near the main (Pile) gate, this is another one of those European ice bars where you go in, put on a massive jacket, and drink from ice cups. It’s a cool experience to have at least once!

Dubrovnik Nightlife: Nightclubs and More

Sky Bar

Sky Bar is a busy little bar/club right outside Pile Gate; you can’t miss the big signs by the bus stop! It’s not much of a ‘sky’ bar really – it’s on the ground floor and is quite dark and closed-in – but people still love it.

This place could go either way in terms of being a bar to check out before the club, or a club itself. It gets busier as the night turns into early morning, and many people head to Revelin (below) from here around midnight. But Sky Bar does stay open until 6am, so you can also stay here for the whole night and dance until the early hours.

Revelin Club

Culture Club Revelin is where you always end up at the end of a Dubrovnik night. One of the most famous nightclubs in Europe, Revelin is located within one of the fortress walls near Ploce Gate, on the other end of Stradun (the main street) to Pile Gate.

Revelin has a top-of-the-line sound system (if you have earplugs, bring them), an amazing lineup of big DJ’s over the summer, an incredible atmosphere of stone arches and high ceilings, and some pretty insane performers… think break-dancers on the stage, stilt walkers perusing through the crowds, and much more. It’s a pretty clubby club if that makes sense – with bottle service, dancers, a VIP section, the whole nine yards.

There are two things you must be careful of here on your Dubrovnik night out – first are drink prices. Drinks are very expensive at Revelin. So if you want to drink, do it before you get into Revelin if you would like to have any money at the end of the night!

Secondly, the bartenders are pretty dodgy here and know people aren’t used to the currency and/or have been drinking, and will sometimes give you the wrong change back when you buy drinks. So make sure your change is right! Other than that, Revelin is a must-see if you want a night out in Dubrovnik… almost even a bucket-list club.

Banje Beach

If you go past Revelin, you can exit the old town walls to see beach area just south of the walls called Banje Beach. Banje (pronounced Ban-yay) is a fun restaurant/beach club area in the daytime where you will find music blasting and people sipping on cocktails.

At night, the party turns up a notch and it becomes bigger party. People return in their nightlife outfits and the dance floors open. I would recommend checking out Reveliv before Banje… but why not both?
