Quick tip: Ohio treehouses book up FAST during fall foliage season (late September through October), so you’ll want to reserve at least 2–3 months ahead for weekends during this season. Most treehouses have a minimum 2-night stay on weekends, so plan accordingly. Spring and summer are gorgeous too, but fall is when these places really shine. Trust me – it’s worth planning ahead for this magical season!

Best Luxury Ohio Treehouse: Soaring Eagle
Location: Logan, Ohio (near Hocking Hills)
One of the most impressive treehouse cabins on my list has to be the two-story Soaring Eagle. To be honest, I was surprised it was just meant for two people based on how big it is!
The Soaring Eagle has wide and vast views across the forest you can catch from almost anywhere in the accommodation, but I think the jacuzzi or hot tub is your best bet.
While there are outdoor amenities to enjoy, with the amazing kitchen, open-air deck, and two massage chairs (yep!), you might find it hard to leave. Don’t forget, though, this is in the Hocking Hills area, so hiking to the likes of Old Man’s Cave is a must-visit.
Best to Go Off-Grid: Tullihas in the Trees
Location: Frazeysburg, Ohio
This is one of the best treehouse cabins in Ohio in Frazeysburg to go completely off the grid. There is no electricity or water, and sometimes not even cell service. The treehouse is a great place to hang out by the campfire, sleep in the hammock, or hike the nearby trails and truly disconnect from your regular life for a little while.
The treehouse has two lofts, one with a double bed and a single on the other side, but they recommend bringing good sleeping bags and pillows.
Situated on acres and acres of land, you can explore during most seasons by hiking or even on your own ATV.
Best Treehouse Resort for Variety: The Mohicans
Location: Glenmont, Ohio
The Mohicans “Treehouse Resort” has multiple different styles and sizes of Ohio treehouse rentals. It’s a super awesome property wth a lot of unexpedcted spots from single loft treehouses to even 2 and 4 bedroom houses!
Many of the cabins and treehouses here don’t have WiFi, which is ideal for totally unplugging for you and your family. Some do, of course; check the individual listings to be sure if you need it.
The most popular large cabin is more of a beautiful getaway, but they also have some super cool smaller treehouses elevated on platforms among the leaves that I absolutely adore.
The big cabins can fit large groups, which makes the whole property pretty perfect for weddings. The largest cabins can host up to 8 guests, and multiple large cabins are available. You could book for a whole party as long as you do it early enough!
Mohican State Park is close by for adventurers, and Ugly Bunny Winery is also a stone’s throw if you’d like to taste some wine from right where it’s made!
Best Rustic but Modern Treehouse Rental: The Hickory Treehouse
Location: Bloomingville, Ohio (near Hocking Hills)
The Hickory Treehouse is absolutely beautiful – enough said. It’s one of the treehouse cabins in Ohio with the best variety of offerings; apart from the basics like a kitchen, there’s a hot tub, wrap-around deck, grill, and fire pit. The whole treehouse is very modern, but with everything you need to immerse yourself in the outdoor spaces.
My favorite part is how the cabin molds to each season, with an outdoor shower to enjoy in the summer and a stove to cozy up by in the winter.
While it’s only suited for 2 people (think romantic getaway), the loft layout and outdoor section make it one of the more spacious cabins on our list.
Best Treehouse Rental for Nature: Hocking Hills Treehouse
Location: Hocking Hills, Ohio
This is one of the dream treehouse cabins in Ohio and has a small, unique studio feel that will make you instantly feel at home. It is in close proximity to Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave, and the popular Cedar Falls. The modern-meets-rustic design of this treehouse is one of its best aspects.
It comes with heating, air conditioning, and yes, even WiFi! Be sure to check out the nearby nature and walks, among other lovely nature-focused things to do in neighboring towns.
Since it’s for two guests, it’s especially perfect for a romantic getaway tucked away in the trees.
Most Unique Ohio Treehouse Rentals: Treebox Treehouse Village (Previously Dwellbox)
Treebox is a super-unique accommodation brand in Ohio, previously known as Dwellbox. Their treehouses are in a full Treehouse Village in Winesburg, Ohio, made up of 5 luxury-yet-rustic treehouses that are all unique, beautiful, and seem like tey came staight from a design catalog – just look at the photos below if you don’t believe me!

The Arrow, The Box, The Sky Loft, The Shack, and More
Location: Winesburg, Ohio
Treebox might be my favorite group of Ohio treehouse rentals, and they’re all located all in Winesburg, Ohio, each with wonderful, unique charm. You may need to take a bit of a winding drive through the wilderness to arrive at this cozy little haven – but an enjoyable one you probably won’t want to leave (I sure didn’t).
The Arrow is a simple A-shaped room, perfect for romantics. The treehouse has a queen-sized bed and a bathroom with a claw-foot bathtub.
If you are looking for something a little larger, then you might want to stay at The Box. This treehouse has 2 beds and sleeps 4 guests. It is built from a shipping container and has a lovely modern design that will have you snapping photos nonstop.
The Treehouse Lodge is a massive treehouse that has 3 bedrooms and can fit TWELVE guests – maybe the biggest treehosue on this list that does not sacrifice ‘coolness’ for size. It’s honestly perfect for a big family or large group of friends on a getaway. It also has a modern, cabin-style interior with a nice big fireplace in the middle of the living room.
The Sky Loft is high in the trees, and even though it’s small, it comes with a queen-sized bed and a small wood-burning stove. It has a wonderful chill-out deck halfway up the stairs and a grill on the deck that guests love to use.

Best Treehouse for Couples: Luxury Treehouse Getaway with Breathtaking Views
This is yet another romantic Ohio treehouse cabin rental that’s perfect for couples. This treehouse is situated in Berlin, Ohio, and has a more old-school cabin-style interior.
It comes with one bedroom, a bath, and a hot tub! It’s also a very high bona fide treehouse- at 30 feet above the ground – and wonderfully secluded on a private 38-acre property in Ohio’s Amish Country. You can’t get much more secluded than this. It;s pretty nice.
There is a large porch that faces out to the wonderful forest – the perfect place to sit and admire the nature around you. Guests can also explore the property or check out the little town of Berlin to see what it has to offer.
Best Ohio Treehouse Rentals for Groups: Cozy Treehouse Cabins
Location: Logan, Ohio
In Hocking Hills (which you can probably tell is where a LOT of the best treehouse cabins are located) there are wonderful ‘Cozy Treehouse Cabins’ rentals that are perfect for an entire family or a group of friends. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 beds but can sleep up to 7 guests with the pullout couch etc.
The treehouse also has a barbecue, a massive deck, and a hot tub!
There are also many nearby attractions in Hocking Hills, such as Old Man’s Cave. You can also go horse riding, zip-lining, fishing, moonlight canoeing, or explore the nearby waterfalls. It also sits on a wonderfully secluded 10 acres of land with a few walking trails to explore.
