Kan Tulum Treehouse Boutique Eco-Hotel

Kan Tulum is one of my favorite Tulum treehouse properties and one of the lesser-known unique treehouse-style places to stay in Tulum (which is why I listed it first)! Kan Tulum is a newer sustainability-focused eco-boutique property deep in the jungle of La Veleta.

I actually discovered this property while on a run, and stayed for myself soon after. I wrote an entire review on the property and its sustainability practices right here. It’s one of the few properties with a cenote on-site, as well as incredible architecture, a sunrise/sunset viewing platform, and a restaurant on-site as well. They are selling units at the moment and starting a big phase 2 of sustainable development while sharing their practices around Tulum also.

Kan is the kind of place that you can escape to for a few days without leaving the property. Bring a friend or significant other and enjoy their boutique designer rooms, food on-site, and wellness activities with a view and pool – and be the first of your friends to do so!

Nomade Tulum Treehouses

Nomade is a stylish and well-known Tulum boutique hotel and beach club. But what some don’t know is that they offer some incredible designer treehouses to sleep in as well as suites, bungalows, and tents.

Situated on stilts above the sand, these treehouses have a unique design covered in sticks, and overlook the jungle to the ocean. There are 5 total Nomade treehouses, and they sit above the ‘wonderland’ jungle pathways, are accessed via spiral staircase, and are connected via rope bridge.

They are rustic yet include all the creature comforts you could need and of course access to the famous Nomade Tulum beach club, restaurants, yoga shala/wellness schedule, and facilities.

The “Jungle Eco Treehouse” Airbnb dome in Tulum is a true treehouse experience. Located in one of those white domes with clear film windows, this treehouse is 30 METERS in the air with its own patio and outdoor area that looks out into the trees.

It’s a truly unique Tulum treehouse experience which feels isolated but is only 5 minutes from town! Located just up the road from Tulum Pueblo (towards Gran Cenote and Centote Calavera) you will find this remote, elevated gem.

Stare at the stars through the windows of your dome, or enjoy breakfast on your 100ft elevated patio. The world is your oyster!

Ajal Tulum Treehouses are nestled into a nook deep in the Mayan jungle next to popular Cenote Escondido. You’ll feel miles from anything, but in reality, you’ll still only be a few minutes’ drive from town.

Ajal is an adults-only boutique hotel, with 4 treehouses raised up 15 feet from the ground, an observation tower, and access to the beautiful cenote Escondido (complete with a rope swing).

You have a restaurant and common area to access, and luxurious amenities in the middle of nature. If you want a jungle Tulum treehouse getaway away from too many people and noise, Ajal is a fantastic option for you.

Boutique Jungle Pod Airbnb – La Veleta Tulum Treehouse

While this little jungle studio may not truly be up in a tree, it feels like a Tulum treehouse just the same. You can gaze through floor-to-ceiling glass windows right to the jungle from bed and feel truly immersed in nature.

This pod is located on the border of La Veleta and even comes with bikes so you can easily access town, Aldea Zama, and the beach. It’s the perfect tulum treehouse airbnb to disconnect – as a meditation or artists retreat or simply for some peace and quiet.

Azulik: The Iconic Tulum Treehouse Hotel

Azulik Tulum treehouse nests for dinner

Azulik is definitely the most famous hotel in Tulum and iconic Tulum treehouse property. Azulik isn’t as much of a singular treehouse as it is a whole unique designer complex built from tree branches, adobe, and sticks above and below the jungle treeline on the beach.

This treehouse design hotel has some of the most unique design in the whole world and truly stands out because of it. They even have a museum open for a few hours each day, and their own space for events, restaurants, and bars that are exclusively open to people who stay there or pay a pretty penny to come in.

Staying at Azulik would be a truly Tulum experience; if you have the money, go for it! Alternatively, you can book a ‘nest’ to have dinner in (these are tables surrounded by sticks that actually look like nests, sitting above the trees for a true Tulum treehouse experience).

“Eclectic Treehouse” at Mahayana Tulum

Another Tulum treehouse on the beach, this amazing airbnb treehouse is both rustic and amazingly located. It’s truly steps from the beach (well, it’s on the sand itself), and even has a common pool area right on the sand too. It’s what dreams are made of!

While basic, this treehouse room has everything you need – including a kitchenette, loft, mosquito net, and all toiletries. Wander straight through the jungle and up the stairs to your very own treehouse ON the beach!

Some of the most amazing Tulum beachfront Airbnbs are part of this complex – check out my article if you have a group and want something on the sand!

These new dome treehouses (there are 2) are located above the jungle treeline at the end of Tulum’s hotel zone/beach road. They’re perfectly placed near the beach yet away from the hustle, and are specifically higher than the trees to present incredible views over the jungle – especially for sunset and sunrise.

Made from bamboo, coconut/hemp fiber, and wood, they are sustainable and natural too! They create the feeling of being in nature but with proper creature comforts such as daily cleaning, hot showers, and luxe amenities.

This amazing Tulum Treehouse rental is right behind the popular I Scream Bar (in the middle of the hotel zone bar strip) and might be the best rate for a 2 bedroom treehouse Airbnb on the beach road.

Coming with 2 private spaces, an AMAZING jungle balcony view, and basic open kitchen amenities, this place is not to be missed. There are 2 floors and while very rustic, it feels like an authentic Tulum jungle experience… and you never have to catch a cab!
