9 Unique Places to Stay in Hua Hin: Boutique Hotels, Beachfront Stays & Villas

If you’re looking for unique places to stay in Hua Hin, these boutique properties offer everything from private rooftop decks to traditional Thai architecture and some truly GORGEOUS pools. There are beachfront stays, secluded villas, and even a wellness retreat with a program tailored to you.

Hua Hin wasn’t really on my radar until recently, when I had planned a trip to the islands, but the logistics of ferries seemed too much… and a few hours driving to Hua Hin seemed a lot more doable. Hint: it is, and while it may not be one of the Thai islands, it still has the stunning beach vibes and green, leafy tropical coast that I craved from them. Oh, and TONS of unique and boutique stays.

So, without further ado, here are some unique boutique stays in and around Hua Hin – get ready for some amazing beachfront pools!

Let’s Sea Hua Hin Al Fresco Resort

Let’s Sea is an amazing adult-friendly, truly beachfront paradise (welcoming guests over 12, so almost adults-only-ish), located directly on the beach in the Khao Takiab area. The property’s highlight and most unique feature is a fabulous 120-meter-long, lagoon-shaped swimming pool that many of the rooms open up directly to! Ground-floor rooms offer pool access from their little wooden decks, while upper-floor rooms have their own private rooftop decks, perfect for stargazing.

This is the place to go if you want to be on the beach, but also really near a busy strip of South Hua Hin, the Cicada market, and main freeways too. It’s also very picturesque, a bit boujie, and perfect for a getaway.

Grab a low-slung lounger at the beachfront bar and watch the tide creep up the shore at sunset – the dream.

The Standard, Hua Hin

The Standard, Hua Hin stands out for its retro design, yellow accents, and tropical gardens right beside the beach. It’s the perfect boujie getaway – in fact, I have plent to recover here after Wonderfuit festival one year soon! The rooms have pale interiors, rattan details, and mid-century-style furniture, with bright touches of yellow that make everything feel extra sunny.

There are rooms and suites with balconies, as well as villas with their own pools and outdoor seating. There’s also Lido for Italian food and Praça for Thai food and cocktails by the beach. I love how colorful and playful the design is, especially with all the greenery around it – the perfect mic of a really nice hotel that’s also super cute.

Anantasila Beach Resort Hua Hin

Anantasila is tucked right in at the foot of the legendary Khao Takiab mountain, and this cozy, family-owned resort (bordered by tall palm trees and lush gardens) offers an old-fashioned and laid-back feel.

It’s totally different from any chain beach resort experience. It’s somehow both elegant and very cute, with a boutique feel with its coral archways and orange striped beach pillows. You can actually get a true sunset view here during some parts of the year, right behind the mountain.

Settle in at their beachfront restaurant or your own private pool patio and enjoy fresh grilled prawns while listening to the waves.

Putahracsa Hua Hin

Do you love clean lines and minimalist design? If yes, Putahracsa can certainly be counted among the most chic places in downtown Hua Hin. The design is delightful, with wood touches, bamboo, and brushed white walls.

The resort itself consists of two sections, with the Oceanside part featuring secluded villas located just behind the seawall. The two sections are separated by a local road, so some rooms sit across the road from the beachfront facilities (and also walking distance to cafes and restaurants).

The Oceanside Beach Club features oversized daybeds right on the ocean wall for front-row seats to twilight colors at sunset!

Devasom Hua Hin Resort

For some old-world charm, step into the Devasom resort. Set between Cha-am and Hua Hin, the gorgeous retreat looks like a traditional Thai-Victorian beach house. There are only 24 rooms, suites, and villas in this place, making it very tranquil even during peak holiday season.

The Seaside Suites carry that old-world charm indoors with four-poster beds, separate living rooms and sea views. For an even closer connection to the beach, the villas sit just steps from the sand. Grab a seat facing the ocean and watch the fishing boats light up along the horizon (and then ideally, grab a seafood dinner)!

Cape Nidhra Hotel

If private pools are on your mandatory checklist, Cape Nidhra delivers in STYLE, baby. Every single suite in this chic boutique property comes equipped with its own private pool. Even the entry-level Sky Pool Suites give you 80 square meters of space, including a wooden deck with an outdoor daybed beside your pool. The Garden Pool Suites take things further with their own garden, so there’s plenty of room to spend a lazy afternoon outside.

It’s also got the perfect location to feel remote and quiet on the beach while still being walking distance to the true center of town with the night market and restaurants (although the food on the property is so good you might not want to eat out).

On the Rocks Bar overlooks the Gulf from its rooftop setting, making it a lovely spot for cocktails right as dusk settles in over the receding tide.

The Rock Hua Hin Beachfront Spa Resort

Another southern Hua Hin resort housed in the Khao Takiab area, The Rock is a secluded beachfront getaway that comes with the luxury of rattan decor, teak flooring, and awesome blue-tiled pool suites. It’s one of the more affordable properties on this list (but only by a little), but it doesn’t skimp out on the amazing amenities.

The Zen Jacuzzi Pool Terrace rooms are particularly epic, with private plunge pools fitted out with jacuzzi jets and wooden terraces surrounded by tropical greenery that actually feels like you’re looking out at the jungle (and also shading you between pool dips)!

V Villas Hua Hin – MGallery Collection (Meaning a Great Splurge)

Do you also love an all-out splurge sometimes!? Don’t look anywhere in Hua Hin but V Villas. They offer total privacy with high-walled multi-bedroom pool villas, personal butler service, and an infinity pool that seems to drop straight into the ocean. Woah.

I’d best describe the design here as tasteful or classy – not too much but perfect touches. The villas are so big that pictures of them look like they could be a photo of the resort pools!

Even the one-bedroom villas come with a separate living and dining area, a private garden and a nine-meter-long pool. Add a twin Jacuzzi in the bathroom, and you might find yourself spending rather more time in the villa than planned.

Have your butler help arrange a private candlelit dinner as the sky turns deep purple. Nothing more romantic!

Chiva-Som: Thai Architecture and a Tailored Wellness Retreat

Chiva-Som is unique because your stay comes with a wellness program tailored to you, and the Thai architecture and interesting spaces make it especially beautiful. I love the steep traditional rooflines, wooden details, and gardens around the buildings. There’s a lot to look at here, even before getting into all the treatments.

You begin with a personal consultation, then your program can bring together spa treatments, fitness, nutrition, and other wellness activities depending on your goals. There are different retreats focused on things like yoga, fitness, and relaxation, with meals and a daily schedule forming part of the experience. So if you want to dedicate a few days to your wellbeing while staying somewhere gorgeous by the beach, this is a pretty special option.
