If you are looking for breakfast in Barcelona – or, if you are a bit of a later riser like me it will end up more like looking for Brunch in Barcelona – I have the BEST list here for you. Most of these breakfast and brunch cafes and restaurants have all-day breakfast or both breakfast and brunch options throughout the day.
Whether you want to catch up with a friend, work on your laptop with some coffee, or taste the best breakfast Barcelona has to offer, I am POSITIVE you will find something here. To be sure, I have done plenty of ‘research’ and tried them ALL myself, just for you! 😛 But really, I did.
Some of these have classic British/Australian breakfast food, some have more ethnic options, and others are in a league all of their own with unique options or spin-offs on classics.
To ensure you can find them all, I have included a map below so you can find the best brunch in Barcelona close to where you are.
If you are a foodie like me, try some of the best coffee shops in Barcelona too, then some of the best tapas in Barcelona later on, and then spend sunset at one of these Barcelona rooftop bars! If you ned to work off all the food, don’t forget some fun Barcelona outdoor activities and Barcelona hidden gems.
Egglab Sant Antoni – Best Brunch in Barcelona

Good for: UNREAL meal – my favorite brunch in BCN for sure!
WiFi: not sure
Location: Sant Antoni and now in Urquinaona too (near Placa Catalunya)
The Egglab is, in my opinion, the actual best brunch in Barcelona. My jaw hit the floor when we were served our egg sandwiches… they were like perfection manifest 😛
This restaurant is cool because you actually get a pencil and mark your choices on the menu. You can select how you want your eggs (we got ‘benedictine’ because HOLLANDAISE SAUCE but you can also order scrambled or sunny-side up) and choose your sandwich. Each one comes with eggs, veg/toppings, and some kind of meat, which definitely classified it as ‘brunch’ in my eyes because the sandwiches had breakfast AND lunch features.
Eliot got the smoked salmon one and I got the pulled pork one, but they also had duck, chicken, tuna, and more. The drinks are cheap so it’s a great place for a Barcelona boozy brunch too!
Prices: Amazing Benedict brunch sandwiches and other dishes average 13-16€ euro each, but boozy drinks were €7, signature iced coffees for €5-6 and coffee even cheaper

Brunch & Cake Barcelona Breakfast Bar

Good for: a date or small group brunch
WiFi: no
Location: Eixample, Barceloneta, and a few other locations
Brunch & Cake is an adorable breakfast restaurant located now in 5 places across the city, up from two in Eixample and one in Barceloneta near the beach. They all have the vibe of a little cake shop, but serve incredible brunches as well (photogenic, colorful, well-presented). Their menu is truly brunch – with a lot of breakfast AND lunch items with a Mediterranean twist.
Their menu is very Paleo/GF/Vego/vegan friendly. Most dishes offer a side of hummus or Caesar salad, and the menu features a lot of smoked salmon and different egg benedicts.
As far as the space goes, they have a few tables inside their little white tile and flower-adorned cafe. Outside lining the curb they have about 6 more tables under the tree-lined Eixample streets with space for 2-4 people each.
If you’re grabbing brunch at one of the Eixample spots, you’re basically in Gaudí territory; the Sagrada Familia is in the same neighborhood, so it’s the perfect post-brunch stop. Book Sagrada Familia tickets from Headout ahead of time, because timed slots sell out days in advance (especially in summer)!
Price: Average dish price €13-15
Milk Bar & Bistro

Good for: Simply delicious Breakfast/Brunch options in the Gothic Quarter
WiFi: Yes
Location: Gothic Quarter
Milk Bar + Bistro is an indoor eclectic spot for breakfast in Barcelona city center. It’s got a decent-sized space with interesting decor all over the place and red suede seats.
They serve a lot of both breakfast and lunch-style options here, and some that bridge categories too. The most unique option was for SURE were the Dutch pancakes (pancakes with bacon, spinach, and hollandiase) and we loved the chorizo bake too. But they also have salads and
They have 4-5 kinds of Benedicts and different pancakes, coffees, juices, and mimosas and cava too. They also have dinner options and happy hour, so you can come here any time of day rather than just for breakfast in Barcelona!
Price: Meals range from €12-14 and drinks range from the cheapest cava at €4 to fresh squeeze OJ and smoothies for €4.50-5 to happy hour €5 cocktails from dinner time. (Cava cheaper than juice? I mean okay I guess it’s cava time)!

Caravelle Restaurant

Good For: Fusion Brunch + Plates with a relaxed and trendy atmosphere
Wifi: Yes
Location: El Raval
Caravelle is a trendy little spot in El Raval. They serve brunch and lunch style meals until 5pm. This is really a proper brunch spot because you can come here and get eggs and coffee, or lunch and craft beer.
Many dishes seem middle-eastern inspired, with Turkish eggs with faltbread, shakshuka, and lamb plates on the menu. However, these are also accompanied by pancakes, Spanish-style dishes, and more. So you can go with whatever vibe you and your friends are feeling here at this cafe.
They pride themselves on doing everything themselves, from curing/smoking the meats to brewing their beer to picking veggies.
Price: €12-14 for most dishes depending on size
Federal Cafe – Aussie-Style Breakfast in Barcelona

Good For: Working, delicious coffee, or a GREAT breakfast served until the afternoon/brunch afterwards
WiFi: yes
Locations: There are a few! Sant Antoni, Gothic Quarter, Poblenou
Federal Cafe is an Aussie-owned cafe with a few different locations around Barcelona. They have an AMAZING Breakfast and brunch menu – with breakfast served until 1pm (“earlier” menu) and a “later” menu which includes lunch items AND breakfast favorites.
So basically, breakfast is served all day here, but your options might change a little. Choose options from granola, chia pudding, and toast to a loaded brekky sandwich, eggs Benedict, toast, and pancakes. Oh, and the coffee is to die for too! I would expect as much from an Aussie cafe anyway. Btw… they have VEGEMITE!
They have wifi and spaces open for laptop working. At the location I visited, they had a designated space for laptops and for no laptops, which I thought was a fabulous idea.
Price: €8-11 for most dishes (with upgrade options), with €4-6 smaller dishes, €4-5 smoothies and juices, €3-4 wines, €1-3 coffees
Bohl Cafe – Minimalistic Barcelona Brunch Cafe with Lots of Bowls

Good for: healthy bowls (from smoothie to lunch), coffee, and laptop working
Wifi: yes
Location: Top of El Born
Bohl Cafe is a super minimalistic and trendy bowls cafe at the top edge of El Born towards the Sagrada Familia. When you push the large wooden door open, you’ll enter a spacious high-ceilinged room with concrete and wooden trimmings.
Their menu is written on papers on the wall, and you will find quite a few types of specialty smoothie bowls, porridge bowls, healthy lunch-style bowls, some toasts, and small bites. They also have coffees, lattes, and smoothies.
They have wifi here and allow working, and there were quite a few people on laptops ordering food and coffees through the afternoon. They close at 4 though, so get here early!
Price: Bowls, toasts, and bites go for about €8-10. The coffees are all below €3 and the smoothies are €5-6 (might as well get a bowl in my opinion)!
The Benedict Barcelona

Good For: A cute atmosphere and delicious food – from many different benedicts to burgers, pancakes, and salads
Wifi: Yes
Location: Gothic Quarter Central
The Benedict Barcelona is another CUTE Barcelona brunch restaurant in the Gothic Quarter – actually directly next to Milk Bar + Bistro. Once you pass through the massive red doors embellished in gold writing, you will enter a restaurant covered in tons of fake plants and British-themed decorations.
This would be a great place to have a sit-down breakfast in Barcelona, as it’s really nice inside. You can get 7-8 styles of benedicts, some breakfast classics (such as the on-brand English Brekky) and other breakfast or lunch items. They also have smoothies, coffee, beer, wine, breakfast cocktails, normal cocktails… the list goes on.
Price: Most dishes are around €13-14 euros
Flax & Kale

Good For: Healthy Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner
Wifi: Yes
Location: El Raval North
Flax & Kale is one of the cutest restaurants in El Raval, if not Barcelona as a whole. It has a beautiful plant-lined second-floor terrace that looks out over a church, but there’s plenty of seating inside also. It’s actually quite huge!
Flax & Kale doubles as a health food grocery store too – you can pop in to get any of over a dozen kinds of fresh pressed juices or ingredients. They have a special brunch on the weekends, and food ready for you at any time of day.
This place reminded me the most of going to an outdoor cafe in Bali or something (maybe just because I lived there) but it was super cute, green, healthy, and creative with food choices.
Billy Brunch

Good for: A classic brunch done REALLY well
Wifi: Yes
Location: Multiple locations – main one in Eixample and others in Universitat, El Born, Poble Sec
Billy Brunch is one of the most popular brunch spots in Barcelona right now, and once you see the food and vibe across its locations, it makes sense. Think, thick stacks of pancakes, perfectly runny eggs, and all the classic brunch dishes next to exposed brick in an unfussy, retro-feeling setting.
It’s definitely more of a “busy, buzzing brunch spot” vibe, and you might have to wait a bit for a table, but that’s usually a good sign in Barcelona. The portions are generous, everything is super satisfying, and it’s one of those places that consistently delivers.
Dushes here really vary depending on size and portion, but average around €11.
Little Fern

Good for: Aussie-style photogenic brunch that lives up to the hype
Wifi: Yes
Location: El Poblenou
Little Fern is the northernmost cafe on this list, located in Poblenou near Ave Diagonal, and it’s one of those places that just gets brunch. It’s very Aussie-coded – which basically means really good coffee, actually well-done eggs, and dishes that look like they belong on Pinterest but still taste like a proper meal (important).
The menu feels and looks fresh and colorful, with things like smashed avo, corn fritters, Turkish eggs, and beautifully plated brunch dishes that feel a bit more elevated than your standard eggs-on-toast situation. It’s also one of those places where everything comes out looking insanely aesthetic, but not in a too gimmicky way.
It’s a great spot for a slower brunch or catching up with a friend before exploring the neighborhood.
Price: DIshes are aorund €9-13 with affordable coffees and more.
