14 Bali Net Bed Hotels with Amazing Hammock Jungle Views

We’ve all seen them – the Bali net bed photos with a gorgeous girl/couple relaxing in bright white sheets in a hanging net overlooking the jungle/rainforest, or rice fields.

Before I lived in Bali I would see these photos on Instagram and think how badly I needed to find what I assumed was this one amazing Ubud treehouse with hammock bed. That is, until I found out that there are actually MANY Bali hotels with net beds – all just as amazing as one another.

There was surely one Bali hotel that started the Bali net bed trend, but the only thing I know for sure is that many others quickly followed suit. I mean, they are VERY aesthetically pleasing, GREAT for photos, and a lovely way to relax in the open air. But let’s first get a few things out of the way below!

Bali Net Bed Hotels: Facts + Fictions

Here are a few important things to know while looking to book a Bali bamboo hotel or treehouse with net bed.

You don’t ACTUALLY SLEEP in the Bali Net Bed.

I know the influencers make it look all glamorous and such, but if I’m honest with you, there are WAY too many bugs for that ish – especially in the jungle. If you don’t mind bugs, you are welcome to spend the night in the Bali hammock bed, but these hotels all do have real beds to sleep in (no matter how un-instagrammed they are).

I more highly recommend my tradition… which is dragging the blanket out to the net in the morning after sunrise and having the BEST breezy jungle nap in the world. That is, after having a photoshoot of course. The bugs apparently have better things to do during the day than buzz into every light source around, and will leave you alone more in the daylight.

Bali Ned Bed Locations

I have broken the Bali Net Bed hotels down into region below. Most people assume they are all in Ubud due to the common jungle and rainforest views, but there are actually boutique properties and bamboo houses all over Bali. Make sure to explore more Bali hidden gems while you travel around these locations.

Many are actually around one of my favorite parts of Bali, Sideman, which has more rice terraces, hills, and views than I have seen anywhere else. Don’t forget to sort out your Bali visa beforehand with Byevisa.

Are the Bali Ned Beds Comfortable?

In short, no. In long – you can make them comfortable if you try hard enough… haha. Let’s be honest – laying in a net with a tiny bit of give is not automatically comfy. BUT, if you bring enough pillows, a duvet/doonah to lay on, and even more blankets to put over you… you can make it work. It’s worth it for the views, tbh.

I’m not sure how comfy all the influencers are while laying in the nets, but I do know they look GOOD. 😛 Realistically though, some nets are more comfy than others (check out Camaya’s stretchy net houses for maximum comfort – Lotus, Butterfly, and Pyramid).

Bali Net Bed Hotels in Sideman & Selat Area

I want to begin with the Bali net bed hotels in Sideman, because these are the most commonly mistaken to be in Ubud. Sideman should be on anyone’s list visiting Bali – it’s farther off the beaten track, less crowded, and absolutely STUNNING.

Sideman is in a valley between green cliffy hills, with MILES of rice terraces, and AMAZING views of Mt Agung. Can you get any more epic views in one place? Probably not.

Camaya Bali: 4 Bamboo Houses with Hammock Beds

Camaya Bali just might be the first place to start the Bali net bed tradition. In a gorgeous corner of a village called Selat (north of Sideman), they have 4 different stunning bamboo houses. Each house has different styles of hammocks, net beds, and fusions of the two. Each house is an architectural marvel, with amazing shapes and angles woven from bamboo and other natural materials.

Their ‘Suboya’ House might have the most famous Bali net bed of all. This house was the first built, and has a net just outside the second-floor master bedroom that overlooks jungle, distant rice terraces, and even Mt. Agung on a clear morning! Their Butterfly, Pyramid, and Lotus houses have net beds made of more stretchy materials all strewn up in different ways.

The Butterfly House is famous for having a little movie attic and net bed at the top with a projector (and a net bed around the pool). The Lotus House has one out the front, and the Pyramid House has two different levels of stretchy hammock beds – one only accessible by ladder.

Camaya is the CLEAR choice when looking to stay in THE famous Bali ned bed bamboo house – but you’ll have to pick which one! Check their Airbnb listings below to see what they can offer. Only two were available at the time of posting this, but check if the other houses are ready for your visit!

Hideout Bali Horizon Villa

One of the best Bali Net Bed places to stay, the Hideout
Photo from booking.com

Hideout Bali is another very famous Bali Airbnb located a mere 10 minutes from Camaya in Selat, near Sideman. This property has four different separate bamboo houses you can book on Airbnb. Hideout is known for having a house with a hanging net between a ladder and a second-floor bedroom over the pool, and also for having a bamboo house with a clear-front pool in front of it (popular for photos).

It’s important to note that you won’t get a Bali ned bed unless you book the right house at Hideout – which is called Hideout HORIZON. It’s surely one of the most unique properties in Bali, with constriction like I’ve never seen before. You can also book the Hideout BEEHIVE house for the clear-front pool, or the two other houses called Hideout LIGHTROOM and Hideout Hut.

Laputa: Villa with Net Hammock Hidden in Nature

sideman Laputa villa with amazing view from the net bed

After an extensive 8-month drone flight search for the best views in Bali, the Laputa “Castle in the Sky” Villa was born. The villa can host up to four guests and boats two bed rooms, one bathroom, and not one, but two net beds to take in the views.

The location of the villa is so secluded, the access road had to be built during construction! So if you want to fall asleep to the sounds of nature around you, this is the spot. While there’s no air conditioner, the area is fresh, so no need to worry about having to beat the heat here. Oh yeah, and breakfast is included!

Veluvana Bali: Famous Sideman Bali Net Bed

Veluvana Bali is a private singular Bamboo house situated right in the middle of Sideman. There’s only one house to book here, and it’s pretty incredible! Although it only has one king bed it’s HUGE and OPEN – facing straight to the rice fields and Mt Agung too.

The ground floor is open, with a small pool, small net inside the floor, and a kitchen with basic supplies. The second floor has an enclosed bedroom with a scenic Bali net bed right out the front with the bnest view in the house.

Kumbuh Jungle: Cute House with Hammock Bed Overlooking the Pool

Kumbuh Jungle is one of the newer houses on this list with a beautiful Bali net bed view. It’s a two-story bamboo house located about halfway between Ubud and Sideman – it’s closer to Sideman than Ubud, but very remote either way.

Kumbuh Jungle is just one house, with a lounge area, fridge, and kettle downstairs and a big bed upstairs that opens up to a porch with a net bed out the front. The net bed here looks directly out to Kumbuh Jungle’s pool. This place is also famous for having a ‘hanging deck’ between two trees to relax and swing with a view.

Magic Hills Bali: Charming Bamboo Two-Bedroom Lodge in Selat

Photo from booking.com

The Magic Hills Bamboo Lodge has to be one of the coolest net hammock villas in Selat (North of Sideman). This is the ideal place for a group of four and the lodge has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fire pit, a PRIVATE pool, and a hot tub. Oh yeah, and a net bed with rice paddy views! Can you ask for more?

In addition to being able to cook here, breakfast is also included, making mornings easy. How’s this sound? Wake up, coffee, hammock net bed, breakfast, and then Bali exploration? Doesn’t sound more perfect does it?

Bali Net Bed Hotels in Ubud Area

There is WAY more than one Ubud treehouse with hammock bed in Bali – there are SEVEN that I even know about. This trend TRULY took off, because I mean, who doesn’t like laying in a net and looking at the jungle (while wearing mosquito spray)?!

If you are visiting Ubud and like good views (which I assume you do if you are reading this), check out 22 Ubud Restaurants with a View while you’re there.

Villa Cella Bella Beautiful Hotel with FOUR Bali Net Beds

The most notable Ubud hotel with a net bed is the lovely Villa Cella Bella. It’s not quite a treehouse, but this 5-bedroom villa has an AMAZING view in the remote hills of Ubud above a deep jungle canyon. You can hear the flowing river below you with a view of pure green.

Villa Cella Bella has one main building of four separate rooms with a shared pool, brass bath, and common space, and another private ‘river’ villa below with a private pool and outdoor bath.

Villa Cella Bella has not one, but FOUR different net beds (gasp). There is one next to the main pool, one in front of it, one private net bed for the second floor ‘luxe’ villa (recommended) and one more in the private river villa (also recommended).

Zen Hideaway #3 Bali Net Villa

View from net hammock in Bali villa

Zen Hideaway is a series of 3 bamboo houses that are rumored to have started the ‘Bali Swing’ craze (which has also since swept the island and country). Apparently Zen Hideaway is known for having an amazing jungle canyon sunrise, and was even featured in a few big commercials. All ‘huts’ can fit at least 4-6 people. If you love sunrises, don’t miss my article on the best sunrises in Bali!

All 3 Zen Hideaway homes have an AMAZING jungle river view and access to the most amazing Bali Swing… but only “Zen Hideaway 3” contains an esteemed Bali Net Bed. It’s a nice big one too. Check the property out below and compare it to the other Zen Hideaway nearby properties.

Stone House Bali Treehouse Room with Hammock Bed

stone house bali villa view with net bed

Stone house is yet another property that looks like a treehouse in Ubud – with a net bed. I know Stone House has multiple different room styles, but the most famous bamboo beetle-like room has a terrace open to the jungle and a big long net bed along the entire front. You’ll want to book the “Treehouse” Room for this.

It’s got beautiful bamboo architecture, outdoor baths and showers, and a rice terrace view from the extra-large net bed. The other ‘Sky View’ rooms are more Mediterranean-style, while the final few (there are only 6 rooms) are Javanese-inspired.

Escape in Bali Airbnb with Hammock Beds

Escape in Bali is technically not in Ubud, but 30-35 minutes northeast – on the way to Mt Batur. This is one of the more remote treehouse-like places to stay in Bali with a net bed, small pond and river, huge stone tub, and two different buildings you can access for a total of 4 people.

This bamboo property has a beautiful downstairs living area and bathroom, an outdoor shower, swinging chair, and all you need for a real escape.

Bambu Indah Bali Jungle Hotel

Bambu Indah Moon House with net bed

Bambu Indah might be one of the most unique and boutique places to stay in all of Bali. This resort has jsut a few rooms, all completely different from one another. Some are more traditional Balinese and some are constructed with sweeping angles of Bamboo. The common ares have amazing rice field views and there are a lot of fun photo spots.

It was closed when we were here, but as far as I know, the Moon Room and the Copper House have the most unique architecture, open plans, and of course net beds.

Blue Karma Ubud

Blue Karma is an Ubud boutique hotel just north of the city and Campuhan ridge. It has a select few rooms with Bali net beds that hang directly over a huge jungle canyon. The rooms/houses are constructed mostly from wood and natural materials, and feel traditional with a modern flare.

For some reason, they haven’t put photos of the net beds on their OTA sites, but see the photo above! It’s definitely a beautiful net bed I would nap in for hours.

Bali Net Bed Hotels in Uluwatu Area

Yes, it’s true, Uluwatu has started taking up the Bali ned bed trend, but with OCEAN VIEWS rather than JUNGLE VIEWS. I know, right?! Amazing. Here are two that I know about so far that have beautiful atmosphere along with hemmock beds to lay in.

If you are visiting Uluwatu, make sure to check out my Complete Uluwatu Food Guide and my guide to Uluwatu Bars if you like a drink with a view. If you are open to hotels WITHOUT net beds, check out the most unique + boutique places to stay in Uluwatu.

The Korowai: Amazing Cliff Hotel with Net Bed Rooms

The Korowai view of the ocean from the hammock bed

The Korowai is actually the perfect fusion between a jungle hotel and a beach hotel. Perched basically between two cliffs at the end of popular Bingin Beach, it has both the jungle green/vines, AND the ocean/sunset view. Dreams, right?

There are only a few rooms at this boutique spot, all of which are constructed of wood and have a little private balcony with a small pool and a – you guessed it – net bed. Definitely one of my top boutique spots in Uluwatu, but only book for a few nights because it’s quite difficult to access.

Dreamsea Bali Surf Camp

Dreamsea Bali surf camp

Dreamsea Bali has more of a Bali hidden gem net bed located just above the sand and surf. There are no net beds in individual rooms but rather a common net bed you can relax in after lunch or after a beach day.

But the allure of this amazing Bali unique stay is more than just the little ned bed on the beach. Dreamsea is a true beach getaway, tucked into a perfect location just above the sand where you can hear the waves from your window, grab a board and paddle out, or take some surf lessons.

Other Awesome Hotels with Hammock Bed Views

That’s right, there’s more! Well, not much more, but I guarantee I will be adding to this list for ever more as more hotels jump on the Bali net bed bandwagon.

Tropical Glamping Nusa Penida

‘Tropical Glamping’ is a set with two simple yet elegant bungalows on a clifftop in south Nusa Penida, amazingly close to famous Diamond Beach.

Their first bungalow is very adorable, with an outdoor movie projector, bean bags, a hammock, and incredible ocean views. But the second, well, it probably offers one of the coolest net beds in all of Bali (as you can see in the photo above!)

If you are visiting Nusa Penida, make sure to check out the Rumah Pohon Treehouse (not very luxe but a unique place to stay) and hike to Kelingking Beach! Check out some more amazing Nusa Penida Beaches while you’re at it.
