There are tons of beautiful Ubud restaurants with a view – many views of rice fields, rivers, and jungles. As one of Bali’s very scenic communities, Ubud is surrounded by canyons flowing with water, dense jungles, and, of course, deep green rice fields.
I’m a complete foodie, so naturally I made it my mission to try as many amazing Ubud restaurants and cafes while I lived here. I also happen to adore lovely views and outdoor cafes, so I spent nearly every day trying two different restaurants in the morning and evening, and seeking out the best views while I was at it – and returning to update the article when I can!
If you’re like me and simply adore looking at a nice view while you eat, or possibly enjoy bringing along your laptop to get some work done in a scenic location, then this article is for you! Keep reading for a huge array of different types of restaurants – from tiny authentic cafes to fine dining – which have one thing in common… an awesome view! See the map below to check locations.

Ubud Restaurants with a View
These are my top 22 Ubud Restaurants with views that you can sprinkle into your Ubud itinerary. I’ve provided a little summary of each one as they are all quite different from each other, from hole-in-the-wall rice field spots to nicer restaurants.
See the map above to find their locations. If you plan it right, you can go to a few of these each day! Ubud is one of the most scenic places to visit in Bali and certainly some of the best things to do in Bali with kids.
Cantina Rooftop
I had one of the BEST group dinners at Cantina Rooftop with my friends. This restaurant is located on the top floor, right above the canyon on Jl Raya Ubud – near the Campuhan ridge walk, just as you drive into the town.
While it may not look out towards the sunset, it’s still an amazing place to go for sunset drinks (hello, happy hour) because it looks right out over a vast expanse of Ubud canyon and jungle, as well as the Mount Lebah temple, which is a dreamy and very Bali view.
But that’s not all – the view is one of the best in Ubud for sure, but the food DEFINITELY is, too. I couldn’t believe the sheer variety of cuisines served here, which were all incredible. We loved the starters – especially the mexican dumplings, the chicken lettuce cups, and the cheese dip. The mains were on point as well; my favorite was the tagliatelle (with sausage – unreal), and my friends loved the beef rendang and lamb tagine. As you can see – so many different cuisines but somehow they did them all really well.
Oh wait – there’s more! The cocktails here are incredible and truly signature and crafted. Our favorites were ‘Lolita’ and ‘The Lost Weekend,’ I still dream about these cocktails (even as a self-proclaimed cocktail snob, haha). It’s worth coming here just for cocktails, too!
The Sayan House Restaurant

Located just outside of the city and just off the main road passing Ubud, you wouldn’t imagine this tucked-away hotel and restaurant to have the insane view that it has. This mostly-outdoor restaurant has open-air views over a massive canyon, covered in jungle and dotted with luxury villas and a distant resort.
I sat on the fairy-lit terrace with my laptop overlooking the view, with the sound of running water and plenty of wildlife in my ears. The restaurant itself is definitely pricey, but for this view you’d expect it!

Littletalks
Summary: Hidden cafe overlooking the canyon near Campuhan Ridge
Order: One of their combo packages – a meal and a drink for CHEAP!
Littletalks Ubud is another hidden gem that you would never find from the main road. It’s located on a tiny terrace belowa hotel, overlooking the temple at the base of Campiuhan Ridge. The outside of the cafe is all a table looking straight out into the open jungle, canyon, and temple. You can hear the river flowing below you, and see essentially entirely green from wherever you sit.
The menu here is simple yet effective. They have a few smoothie bowls, a few smaller lunch options, and some main meals. They have both vegetarian and non-vego dishes, with a fried chicken burger being a favorite dish. It’s very affordable – you can get a latte and smaller plate combo for only 45k.

Yellow Flower Cafe
Summary: Adorable cafe/restaurant in a hidden part of Penestanan, overlooking a canyon
Order: Smoothie bowls, brekky, lunch, juice….
Yellow Flower Cafe is truly a hidden gem. You must take a bit of a hidden walkway up in Penestanan which accesses lots of hillside businesses and villas. You can reach this road by walking up the path from near Alchemy, or up the Penestanan stairs.
Yellow flower has a coloful and open plan, with a few hanging chairs and lots of yellow flowers decorating the tables. The menu is diverse, with classic breakfast options and smoothie bowls up to more substantial options for lunch and dinner. They have delicious coffees and juices too. It’s honestly a great option for any time of day! Try to get the table across the main path if you want the best viewage.

Tropical Ants
Summary: Tiny, cheap, open-air coffee roastery on a rice field outside the city
Order: Fancy Artisan Latte’s (of cocktail jugs)
Tropical Ants is one of my favorite tiny Ubud restaurants with a view. I didn’t find it in any guidebook – I actually found it because I rode my scooter past it on multiple occasions before finally stopping by to see what it was all about.
I had all my suspicions (that it would be a great find) confirmed when I stopped in and ordered a fresh juice for a whopping total of nearly 15k rp. I think it has gotten more popular (and possibly more expensive) since I first visited back in 2020, but it’s beautiful just the same.
My partner and I returned later on to try some of their creative lattes (I tried red velvet and he tried charcoal, but they had avocado, taro, coconut, and more flavored lattes). They roast the beans in a tiny room in the middle of the cafe. We also tried some food (they have a few basic and simple options – also cheap) and their cocktail jugs (which were only 75k – dangerous and delicious).

Muse Cafe
Summary: Trendy artsy cafe near a canyon north of the city
Order: Breakfast, dosas, cacao,, cocktails…
Muse Cafe is a trendy cafe and art gallery overlooking a jungle bridge about 5 minutes north of Ubud. Muse is a classic and diverse Bali cafe with great options for everything from breakfast + coffee to dinner + cocktails. Standout items on the menu are a range of Indian fusion dosas and a few tasting platters like mezze boards and a choose board.
Muse is entirely open-air, with most seats facing out towards the green view. There are paintings and other forms of art decorating the space, which adds a nice element to the space. You can expect to pay about 80-100k for a meal and coffee here.

Dragonfly Cafe
Summary: Open-air vegetarian restaurant attached to accommodation village
Order: Coffee, juices, and smoothie bowls
Dragonfly Cafe is the restaurant attached to the remote and scenic Dragonfly Village. It’s located up the tiny road of Jl. Subak Sok Wayah that stems up north from Ubud’s main road. This entire road is full of gorgeous Ubud restaurants with a view, as there are many rice fields and a huge canyon adjacent to it.
Dragonfly Cafe has a great vegetarian menu for breakfast and lunch, with great coffees, juices, smoothie bowls, salads, gelato, and more. They have a gorgeous and huge open-air bamboo hut as the dining area, with bean bags for chairs and a view out into the rice fields and jungle.

Rusters
Summary: Coffee Roastery and restaurant overlooking the rice fields outside Ubud – sunset spot
Order: Great coffee or a daily dinner + cocktail special
Rusters is another Ubud restaurant with a view that we stumbled upon by driving past it on a few occasions before finally stopping in to see what it was all about. We are glad we did, because Rusters is home to a modern and trendy cafe where they roast coffee beants right on-site (which you can view from the cafe). They have a limited cafe menu, but all you really need is to try a delicious fresh coffee.
They have an adjacent restaurant and bar which is THE place to watch the sunset in Ubud. This restaurant looks directly out to miles of rice fields, facing right into the sunset. They have a dinner special each day where you can get the meal of the day and a sundowner cocktail for 150k.

Citrus Berry Ubud (previously Cafe du Monyet)
Summary: trendy Indonesian Restaurant looking out at a rice field
Order: Indonesian dishes with a creative flair and backyard seating looking at a garden and rice paddies
I haven’t taken a new photo since this place was called Cafe du Monyet – a French cafe with nice martinis. These days, the restaurant has reopened as Citrus Berry, serving classic Indonesian fare with creative spins and nice presentation. Let me know if you try it!

Atman Nourish
Summary: Trendy Shop w/ Restaurant at the back
Order: From brunch to dinner – there’s a great selection
Atman Nourish is a tucked-away restaurant in Ubud’s city center that you wouldn’t imagine to have a nice view – but it does.
On the south-facing main road of Ubud, Atman Nourish looks just like any old shop from the outside. But if you pop in and cruise towards the back, you’ll find that it looks out upon a tucked-away rice field right in the city center! They have great options and dishes from breakfast to dinner.
Sari Organik
Summary: Well-known Vegetarian Restaurant up Jl. Subak Sok Wayah
Order: Vegetarian meals with a view – lunch or dinner
Sari Organik is another epic warung up the tiny street of Sok Wayah (which I would recommend for a nice walk, but a sketchy scooter drive)! This is one of the best vegetarian Ubud restaurants with a view, as you’ll feel like you are basically eating your meal in the middle of a rice paddy itself.
The wooden restaurant is propped up next to the road and looking out on rice fields below, towards Campuhan ridge. They have an amazing selection of vegetarian dishes that are well worth the trek. You can also grab some fresh produce at the veggie market of the other side of the road.

Zest Ubud
Summary: Ever-trendy hilltop vegan spot in Penestanan
Order: Delicious Cacao and Creative Vegan dishes – good for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Honestly, if you are reading this guide I am SURE you already know about Zest – it’s famous in Ubud and the words ‘up near Zest’ are used more often than the actual name of the area (Penestanan). But I couldn’t write about Ubud restaurants with a view and leave out this gem that looks RIGHT out into the jungle to make you feel that you’re immersed in it!
Zest has some amazingly creative vegan food that doesn’t taste or feel vegan (my non-vegan boyfriend was impressed, and that’s saying something). You can order steak, bacon, etc in creative, vegan ways (usually soy, tofu, tempeh based, etc). The atmosphere is SO trendy and green, they have their own Soundcloud playlists of downtempo techno, and it’s all-in-all awesome and SO Ubud.

The Rice Joglo
Summary: Guesthouse w/Rice Field Cafe
Order: Something simple like a juice while on a walk
The Rice Joglo is one of Ubud’s veruy unique buildings as it is actually an old Dutch House brought to Bali piece by piece and reconstructed. The house itself is actually accommodation, but they have a small open-air restaurant where you can order simple dishes and juices while surrounded by rice fields.
Again, this street is amazing for a walk, and this spot is a great stop along the way.

Moksa Restaurant Ubud
Summary: Vegan Restaurant overlooking permaculture garden
Order: the most delicious vegan treats you can imagine!
I’m going to go ahead and say that Moksa Ubud is the best vegan restaurant in Ubud or otherwise. They get truly creative with vegan and raw vegan dishes to a point that I’ve rarely seen before. They grow a lot of their own ingredients right on-site and even have a shala for classes and yoga too.
I won’t lie, it’s slightly impossible to get to (via some thin and sketchy roads) but it will be worthwhile. Whether you are vegan or not, it’s worth checking out!
Ubud Restaurants with a View in Tegallalang
Tegallalang is the town with Bali’s most famous rice terraces – about 20 minutes north of Ubud. No visit to Ubud is complete without visiting Tegallalang rice terraces, and naturally, there are many restaurants that make great use of the beautiful terraces by overlooking them.
I won’t go into specifics on the best restaurants with a view right in Tegallalang, because there are dozens! If you walk along the road in Tegallalang, each and every restaurant and venue overlooks the terraces, and many have hearts made of sticks you can sit inside, “I <3 Bali” signs, and other nest-looking things that are any instagrammer’s paradise.
SO make SURE to visit Tegallalang and get a meal with a view in Ubud. Below are a few other beautiful restaurants and cafes that would be a bit harder to find.

Tis Cafe
Tis cafe might be my favorite Ubud restaurant with a view on this whole list! It occupies a few levels of restaurant going down the hill overlooking one of the most beautiful parts of the rice terraces. It’s adorned with colorful umbrellas, plush chairs, and bean bags looking over two levels of AMAZING pools.
The food here is top-notch, with delicious and well-presented asian fusion breakfast, brunch, and lunch option with plenty of coffees, coconuts, and smoothies to enjoy by the pool. This is a must!

Akasha Restaurant
Summary: Trendy restaurant, bar, and event space that feels like a festival
Order: Lunch and dinner – they have alcohol and meat options OR Vegan and juice options. Inclusive!
If you visit Ubud I highly reccommmend you visit Akasha at least once. If you don’t end up there for an event (sound healing, ecstatic dance, movie night, etc) you should find your way there for dinner/late lunch simply to experience the awesome space.
Akasha is on a rice field near Tegallalang, but the real views come from the amazing art and decor. When I was there they had a massive bamboo sculpture of a woman, tapestries blowing in the wind, amazing bamboo patterns, and more. It feels like when you’re at a music festival and you stumble upon the awesome chill space and decide to hang out for a while.

Greenkubu Restaurant
Summary: Incredible + cheap rice terrace AND jungle outdoor restaurant near Tegallalang
Order: Cheap Indonesian dishes, juices, pizza, cocktails… good for lunch/dinner
I’m SO happy I stumbled upon Green Kubu on a massive walk from Ubud. This is TRULY one of the best Ubud restaurants with a view as the restaurant space is literally surrounded by rice paddies and man-made lilypad lakes, and beyond that, a deep jungle with its own Bali swing.
They have stone pathways through the rice terraces (that I recommend you try walking), and even a terrace made in a heart shape. They have their own swing right over the jungle, too. It’s a dream (especially an instagrammer’s dream). The food is also great quality and affordable.

Bubuh (Kedai Bubuh)
Summary: TINY outdoor cafe with a couple local options and a great view
Order: Try some new Indonesian dishes! Our favorite was Luk Luk.
We stumbled upon this one randomly while on a walk, too. It’s absolutely tiny, and very local. I don’t think they spoke much english, so we pointed at a couple menu items and hoped for the best. We were NOT disappointed, eitther… we got luk luk pancakes and **tidak cinta* peanut rice cakes with iced coffees, and loved it!
It was SO cheap and located in one of my favorite areas of Ubud. The whole area is surrounded by rice terraces, and you can see shadows of the surrounding volcanoes in the distance, too. Choose between a few different outdoor tables or branch-lined huts, or even check out the art gallery on site.
Honorable Mentions for Ubud Restaurants with a View (or Awesome Atmosphere)
While the Ubud restaurants below may not have a view of a rice field or jungle, they are still worth mentioning for other reasons. These restaurants are all garden cafes or outdoor areas with pleasant things to look at slash nice atmosphere inside that make them worthy of this list. Oh, and did I mention great food?! That’s a must for me as well!

Suka Espresso
Summary: Two-Floor cafe in town with balcony _ epic food/coffee
Order: 50k meal specials, pork hash brown eggs benny, banana ricotta pancakes, avo smash, Suka Iced Latte, honestly most things are good
Suka espresso is a favorite of mine, located in Ubud and Uluwatu. It’s a cute cafe with Western comforts and asian twists. Their coffee is great and their meals are cheap and high quality. We have usually gone for breakfast and now had a single thing we didn’t like, but their lunch options are equally good.
In Ubud their cafe has a second floor balcony overlooking a bust road, which at least half qualifies it as an Ubud restaurant with a view to me! It’s also great to bring your laptop for a few hours of work above the street.

Alchemy
Summary: Gorgeous raw vegan restaurant with lovely atmosphere and balcony seating area
Order: Delicious juices, extremely creative raw vegan dishes, build-your-own salads, and baked goods
Alchemy is another Ubud staple and popular raw vegan restaurant. The interior is designed beautifully with tons of plants, couches, and tables, and they have an upstairs dining area overlooking the street in Penestanan. The atmosphere here is very inviting for a mean you wouldn’t even know is raw vegan, socializing, or even a few hours of laptop work.

Usha Cafe
Summary: Russian Garden Cafe
Order: Russian Crepes/Dumplings and other favorites, amazing baked goods
Usha Cafe is a tucked-away garden cafe in a jungle area just south of Ubud city center. The tables are mostly outdoors and the area is shaded by trees, decorated, and has a grass area in the middle. They have interesting Russian favorites like stroganoff and ricotta dumplings, and their baked goods are to die for.

Clear Cafe
Summary: Super-trendy cafe in Ubud center with koi pond, vines, amazing jungle vibes, and flower decor
Order: Super-extensive menu typical of Ubud. Lots of juices/elixirs, dishes from different parts of the world (organized as so on the menu)
Clear Cafe is an Ubud favorite. From their beautiful circular door to the messages spelled out in orange flowers each day on the stairs, and from the flowing water downstairs to the vine-laden upstairs… it’s a must. It’s a classic Ubud restaurant with a little of soemthing for everyone and trustworthy good food.
The upstairs balcony also overlooks the street, so you could say it has somewhat of a view also! All in all it’s an enjoyable atmosphere to spend a couple hours and enjoy a meal.

Mamu
Summary: Trendy open-air restaurant south of city center
Order: Many western and fusion options for all times of day, shisha too
Mamu has a colorful atmosphere, painted walls, fairy lights, and a fun vibe. They have a classic Bali cafe menu with a Russian twist. It backs up into a jungle area which adds to the atmosphere. They often have DJ’s or live music on Sundays, too.

L’Osteria Ubud
Summary: Epic Authentic Italian Food with a nice atmosphere
Order: Pizzas are to die for
L’Osteria is a very popular Ubud restaurant with delicious authentic Italian food. They claim to have the best pizza in Ubud, and I think they have more than just that! It’s definitely the most authentic Italian food I have had here, and everything is presented well and tastes even better.
They set up the space with Italian decor and its open to he street near Monkey Forest, which completes the setting for a great meal with an atmosphere in Ubud.

Well, that completes the list of my favorite restaurants in Ubud with a view! I’m sure there are always more to discover, though… which do you think I should add to the list?
